Laravel and Vue Development, Senior End to End
I design, build, and run Laravel applications for businesses that depend on them: customer portals, internal platforms, SaaS products, and the integrations that connect them to payments, CRM, and messaging. One principal architect from architecture to production.
The full stack of a Laravel business application.
New platforms
Portals, internal systems, and SaaS products on Laravel with Vue 3 and Inertia.js. Designed for the people who use them every day, with the reporting owners actually look at.
Migrations and rebuilds
Moving off Yii, CodeIgniter, or a custom PHP framework without a cutover weekend, using the strangler pattern so the business keeps running.
Learn moreUpgrades
Laravel 5/6/8 to current, PHP 7 to 8, Vue 2 to Vue 3. Done incrementally with tests, so you get a supported stack instead of a rewrite.
Integrations
Stripe and Cashier billing, HubSpot two-way sync, Twilio SMS workflows, and third-party APIs, built on queues with retries and logging so they survive contact with production.
Hosting and DevOps
Laravel Forge on AWS or DigitalOcean: zero-downtime deploys, queues and Horizon, backups, monitoring. Or inside the AWS account and CI you already have.
AI features
Assistants and insight layers wired into your real data, like the Claude-powered analytics in NextBoat and MASC, built where they add value and not as a demo.
Senior, hands-on, and honest about tradeoffs.
When you hire CraftWeb you hire me. I read the requirements, design the system, write the code, set up the deploy, and answer the phone when something breaks. There is no handoff between the person who sold the work and the person who does it.
- Phased delivery. Work ships in production every few weeks, in priority order. You see progress, not status reports.
- Fixed quotes. A scoped phase has a price before it starts. Retainers are reserved hours with a monthly report.
- Tests and docs by default. Feature tests on what matters, a README that explains the architecture, and a handoff your next developer can pick up.
- Boring, proven stack. Laravel, Vue, MySQL, AWS. I pick the tool that will still be supported in five years over the one that is trending this month.
- Plain answers. If a rewrite is a bad idea, or a feature isn't worth its cost, I say so on the call.
Chosen for the next five years, not the next demo.
Every choice below is one I can hire for, host anywhere, and hand to another developer without a translation layer. That matters more to a business than any single feature.
| Laravel | The framework: routing, auth, queues, scheduling, testing, and a package ecosystem that covers most of what a business app needs before custom code starts. |
| Vue 3 + Inertia.js | Modern interfaces without a separate API project. Server-side routing and auth, Vue components for the screens, one deploy. |
| MySQL | Boring on purpose. Backups, replication, and hosting are solved problems, and every developer knows it. |
| AWS + Laravel Forge | EC2, RDS, and S3 with Forge managing servers and zero-downtime deploys, or your existing AWS account and CI pipeline. |
| Stripe, HubSpot, Twilio | Billing, CRM, and messaging integrations I have built repeatedly, on queues with retries so they survive outages on the other end. |
| Pest, Pint, GitHub Actions | Tests on what matters, consistent formatting, and CI that runs on every push, so the codebase stays maintainable after launch. |
What people usually bring me.
- "We need a portal our customers can log into." A Laravel + Inertia application with accounts, roles, the workflows your team runs today in email, and the reporting that comes out of it. First phase in production within weeks.
- "Our app is on Laravel 6 and nobody wants to touch it." An audit, then an incremental upgrade to current Laravel and PHP 8 with tests around the risky parts, so you're on a supported stack without a rewrite.
- "Our Stripe billing is a mess." Cashier done properly: subscriptions, proration, failed-payment handling, webhooks on a queue, and reconciled reporting for whoever does the books.
- "Sales lives in HubSpot and the app doesn't know." Two-way sync between your application and HubSpot, with the field mapping written down and a log you can actually read when a record looks wrong.
- "The developer left." A takeover: access, backups, an honest assessment of the codebase, and a plan that starts with stabilizing before improving.
Where I go deepest.
Working with a Laravel consultant
Are you a freelancer or an agency?
Neither in the usual sense. CraftWeb is a one-person principal-architect consultancy. You get senior-level architecture and hands-on code from the same person, without an agency's account layer or a freelancer's availability gamble.
Which Laravel versions do you work with?
Everything from Laravel 5.x legacy apps that need upgrading to current releases. New builds start on the latest LTS-quality release with PHP 8.x.
Vue 2 or Vue 3? Inertia or an API?
Vue 3 with Inertia.js for most business applications, because it removes an entire API layer. An API plus SPA when there is a mobile app or a third party consuming it. Vue 2 apps I migrate to Vue 3 rather than extend.
Can you take over an existing Laravel application?
Yes. Inherited codebases are a large part of the work: I start with a short audit (tests, security, upgrade path, hosting) so you know what you have before deciding what to do with it.
Do you handle hosting and deploys?
Yes. Laravel Forge on AWS or DigitalOcean is my default, with zero-downtime deploys, backups, monitoring, and queues. I can also work inside your existing AWS account and CI.
How do engagements work?
A free call, then either a fixed-price scope in phases or a monthly retainer for ongoing work. You always have a quote before work starts.
Tell me what you're trying to build.
A 30-minute call. You'll leave with an honest read on approach, a ballpark, and a suggested first phase, whether or not we work together.
